I've read this book several times and have tried for years to secure my own copy. This is a condensed version of about ten volumes written over a period of years containing the highlights of a long and busy lifetime. Parson Woodforde was a very droll, insightful, rather whimsical by: This Woodforde book a pretty interesting short book, covering the early days of the bicycle up through the first half of the 20th century.
Unfortunately the book reads as though the author simply ran out of steam or enthusiasm in the last few sections, as everything that takes place in the bicycle's development in the 20th century seems to be just glossed by: Given that there appears to be no version of the diary currently in print and commercially available (the volume edition must be ordered directly from the Parson Woodforde Society, and even several of those volumes are out of print), readers wishing to own a copy of Woodforde will be searching for used books anyway, and might as well seek /5(11).
